The Steel Structure is a center for steel fabrication and education located in St. Louis, Missouri. The center celebrates its historically German roots with its name and biophilic construction techniques through the connection to the landscape. This is done through floor penetrations for pre-existing trees to continue to thrive in the air controlled garden space of the center. Their oxygen emissions are filtered into the central air system and is returned with the carbon dioxide emissions naturally transferred by the return air registers of the mechanical system.
